Worship

Sunday worship service at Churches of Christ, Scientist in the Chicago area is just an hour. Conducted by lay members who are elected by their congregations, the sermon is comprised of citations from the Bible and a companion text, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Services are open to everyone. People are dressed comfortably. Come and be comfortable too!

Sunday School

Christian Science Sunday School is about discovering how spirituality is relevant to kids in their own lives – how it shows up in everything good that kids love to do, and even how it influences for the better. It’s an opportunity to talk with other kids under the age of 20, discuss meaningful perspectives on issues, and feel totally supported.

MAIN FOCUS: Deepening an understanding of the spiritually-inspired message of the Bible and applying Biblical truths to everyday experience. Regularly discussed are the Bible “classics” – the Ten Commandments, The Lord’s Prayer, and the Beatitudes. For centuries these have been trusted resources providing a moral compass and “true north” for individuals and invaluable for navigating the ups and downs of life’s journey.

WHO CAN ATTEND: Sunday School is for anyone up to the age of 20. It’s usually the same time as the Sunday worship service. Infants and children too young for classes are cared for in the Nursery. The youngest classes include singing and introductions to familiar Bible characters and stories. Older classes tend to be organized around like-grades and interests. Worship and Sunday School in all locations meet year round. Students are welcome to enroll at any time during the year and visiting students are always welcome.
